2025 Australian Open: How much will Madison Keys earn for winning the final in Melbourne?

Madison Keys claimed her first Grand Slam title with a 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 victory over defending champion Aryna Sabalenka.
Keys, who only reached one prior Grand Slam final, put on a sensational performance against two-time Australian Open champion Sabalenka.
The American took the first set with relative ease, displaying some of her best tennis at the tournament.
Sabalenka levelled the match but couldn’t stop a determined Keys from grabbing the decider.
The 29-year-old, who lost the US Open final back in 2017 to Sloane Stephens, is not only celebrating her first Grand Slam success but also her biggest pay cheque.
By winning the final in Melbourne, Keys bagged 3.5m Australian dollars – which is £1.78m and $2.2m.
The Australian Open total prize pot in 2025 saw an 11% increase on the previous year. Over the past decade the money pool has gone up by a massive 119% at the event.
Keys was forced to navigate a difficult draw to make the Australian Open final. Her first match came up against fellow American Ann Li which she won in straight sets.
Elena-Gabriela Ruse of Romania took Keys all the way in the second round, though the American eventually prevailed over three sets.
Wins over Danielle Collins and Elena Rybakina followed before a tense meeting with Elina Svitolina in the quarter-finals.
Keys then faced the toughest test of all as she was taken to a third set tie-break against Iga Swiatek in the semi-final.
The American beat some of the biggest names in the women’s game and can finally call herself a Grand Slam champion.
