Sandown racing top tip: Stay Away Fay has plenty in the tank to score again

Harry Cobden on Stay Away Fay
We’re backing the duo of Planet Sport Bet’s Harry Cobden and Stay Away Fay to make it back-to-back wins at Sandown on Friday afternoon.
14:25 Betfair Esher Novices’ Chase
It’s a small field of four horses for the 14:25 at Sandown on Friday, headed by Stay Away Fay with Planet Sport Bet ambassador Harry Cobden taking the reigns.
Conkwell Legend has been priced out of contention at 125/1 and it’s easy to see why given that he hasn’t done well transitioning from hurdles to fences.
Lucinda Russell’s Giovinco and Joe Tizzard’s The Changing Man make up the other half of the field and both look capable of competing.
Stay Away Fay returned to action at Exeter last month after a seven-month break. That run will have been needed but it didn’t stop him from winning with more in the tank.
The race wasn’t run at any great pace but the performance still suggests there’s a lot more to come from the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle winner.
The Changing Man also ran well at Exeter after a seven-month break and finished second to Stay Away Fay. They were neck and neck in the weights that day but the runner-up receives 2 lb from his rival.
The unexposed Giovinco looks to be progressing well and perhaps has the potential to compete with the field but seeing is believing.
Stay Away Fay may be conceding weight to The Changing Man but he battled well to come from behind and claim the race fairly comfortable at Exeter so it may not be enough to prevent a repeat forecast.
Suggested bet: Stay Away Fay to win the 14:25 at Sandown
