Harry Cobden’s Planet Sport blog: Stay Away Fay and Giovinco will battle it out at Sandown

Planet Sport Bet ambassador Harry Cobden gives us his views on his four rides on day one of the Tingle Creek Festival at Sandown on Friday afternoon.

13:15 (Sandown) Hudson De Grugy

Hudson De Grugy is my first ride for Gary Moore. He’s got some good form around Sandown and Gary obviously trains plenty of winners around there.

We know that he acts on soft ground at the track, and while it’s a competitive race, I think he’s got a good chance.

13:50 (Sandown) Insurrection

Insurrection is one I’m really looking forward to.

He was fairly impressive at Exeter first time out and it was a pleasing performance as we weren’t quite sure how good he was.

We thought he was a nice horse, but it was a very good performance and I know the second horse is well-regarded which gives the form a better look too.

My only worry with him would be that the ground might be quite heavy come the race and I’m not sure he’d be at his best on really bad ground.

I don’t think the trip will be an issue and I’m very hopeful he’ll run well in what looks a hot contest.

I’d be pretty confident he’s a horse that’s going to win lots of races and get to a good level, so I’m looking forward to getting him on again.

14:25 (Sandown) Stay Away Fay

Stay Away Fay is another to be excited about. We were very happy with how he went through the race at Exeter and he’ll certainly improve for that here.

Lucinda Russell’s horse, Giovinco, looks the main rival and it will be interesting to take him on.

He should handle the ground and the track shouldn’t be an issue, so he should be bang there.

It will certainly be a good race to watch with two very smart novice chasers taking each other on.

15:00 (Sandown) Huelgoat

I then ride Huelgoat. He won well at Wincanton last time under Freddie Gingell but has gone up nine pounds for that and with me now riding him he’s effectively 15 pounds higher in the weights.

He’s clearly in really good form, but the big rise does make his life much harder.

15:35 (Sandown) Impact Du Bonheur

My final mount at Sandown is Impact Du Bonheur. He seems like a nice horse and we’d like to think there is some improvement off a mark of 101.

This looks a nice option for him, and I’m hopeful he’ll be right in the mix at the end of the race.
