Newbury each-way racing tip: Harry Cobden can bring best out of Irish Hill

Gallyhill gets off to winning start for Henderson at Newbury
There’s a few likely contenders in this 11-strong line-up, and the buzz coming from the Tipstrr camp is that Paul Nicholls and Harry Cobden could team up with yet another winner at a tasty price.
13:40 Newbury: Coral Racing Club Handicap Hurdle (2 miles 4½ furlongs)
At the top of the betting, good things are expected from Nicky Henderson’s Jet Powered, who won on hurdle debut here a year ago before coming up short when last seen on New Year’s Eve, so it will be interesting to see how he copes with this step up in trip on his handicap debut after such a long break.
The favourite’s short price seems vulnerable with so many unknowns in play, and Uncle Bert from the Twiston-Davies camp could provide a threat after winning at Perth in September, and he certainly shouldn’t be tired from his Cheltenham outing two weeks ago after taking a tumble at the fourth obstacle.
North Lodge and Off To A Flyer could well have a say, while the lightly-raced Cobbler’s Dream appears to have slipped beneath the bookies’ radar after putting up a decent showing to come third on his season reappearance at Kempton last month.
Catching the eye most of all, however, is Irish Hill who landed five wins and three seconds in ten rides for the Nicholls yard last winter, before the handicapper and higher-class rivals got the better of him at the Cheltenham and Aintree spring festival.

Harry Cobden was in the saddle for the majority of those outings, including the last of a hat-trick of wins last winter, and he was back on board for his season debut at Kempton 12 days ago.
This quick turnaround suggests that outing was a required pipe opener for the five-year-old, and he returns just one pound higher than his last winning mark, and with odds hovering around the 8/1 mark at the time of writing he looks at the very least a good each-way play here.
