Ludlow each-way tips (1650): Bridget Mary bids to defy the odds under Harry Cobden

Ludlow Dusk
The last race on Ludlow’s card looks to be a competitive maiden hurdle, so it will be interesting to see what Planet Sport Bet racing ambassador Harry Cobden can bring out of one of the outsiders.
16:50 Ludlow: Stuart Matthews 50th Birthday Mares’ Maiden Hurdle (2 miles 5¼ furlongs)
The bookies have this down as a four-horse race between the market leaders who are covered by barely three betting points, with Jamie Snowden’s Phone Home arguably the pick of the bunch after making the frame in each of her three outings this term
The remaining nine starters are all currently available at 14/1 or above, and with that in mind, better value might be found further down the betting should enough of the principals falter to leave room in the frame for a tasty outsider.
Lexies Moon looks capable of building on a promising third of 12 on hurdle debut at Hereford last month, while Marmalade Time could outrun his odds in the capable hands of Charlie Deutsch.

The same argument could be said for Harry Cobden’s presence on Bridget Mary, who landed her first effort in Irish points and has shown glimpses of ability in her two outings under Rules, albeit without ever making much of an impression.
Cobden’s hopes of making further ground on current leading jockey Sean Bowen have been dented by the withdrawal of his first two Ludlow bookings, so he might have an extra incentive to get the best he can out of this last ride of the day.
Bridget Mary’s two outings came in the space of a month before Christmas, so her subsequent seven-week break should have freshened her up for a fresh assault, and the booking of Cobden looks intriguing.
Suggested best bet: Bridget Mary in the 16:50 at Ludlow
