Ludlow Racecourse

First afternoon jumps meeting of the month at Ludlow on Wednesday, February 7 and the Planet Sport tipsters are once again on hand to dig up some potential winners.

Let's begin with some details on our four highlighted selections from Ludlow and then serve up a full set of tips at the bottom of the page.

Don't forget to check out the full racecard, results and live odds in Planet Sport's racing live centre.

Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

(Please be aware selections could become non-runners after article's first publication)

13:50 (Ludlow) Palio

Palio is given another chance in the Racing To School Juvenile Hurdle after being given time to recover from being pulled up in heavy ground at Aintree last time.

Alan King’s gelding had previously chased home Burdett Road at Huntingdon on his encouraging National Hunt debut and also had some decent Flat form.

14:50 (Ludlow) Can You Call

Can You Call has been racing well at this level. Placed both starts since a break including a narrow defeat at Chepstow and enjoys this type of race.

Ballybegg aims for back to back wins following a ten length success in a novice event over course and distance. Could prove nicely handicapped switching to open company.

Galahad Quest returned after a ten month absence with a credible sixth when hurdling. May come forward for race fitness and previously went well among Graded company.

15:20 (Ludlow) Bonttay

Bonttay was all the rage for a valuable mares’ handicap at Cheltenham in mid-December and was still travelling well when parting company with Paddy Brennan two out.

Fergal O’Brien clearly thinks a lot of the seven-year-old, who registered six wins and three seconds in her first nine races, so she is worth sticking with in the Watch On RacingTV Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.

16:50 (Ludlow) Phone Home

Phone Home probably holds the best credentials in this field with hurdle experience already.

Two placings past three outings including a strong second at Catterick last start and has a top chance in the Stuart Matthews 50th Birthday Mares' Maiden Hurdle.

Looking As You Are returned to easier competition after struggling in a Listed event at Doncaster finishing third attempting the aforementioned Catterick event. Appears to be the form-line worth following.

Ludlow selections in full:

LUDLOW: 1.50 Palio, 2.20 South Omo Zone, 2.50 Can You Call, 3.20 Bonttay, 3.50 Chance A Tune, 4.20 Tea Clipper, 4.50 Phone Home
