Dundalk top racing tip: Hopes are high for Bold Optimist to repeat course-distance win

Newcastle Racecourse
One of Tipstrr’s leading racing experts believes that the course-distance-winning favourite will have too much quality for his ten rivals in this six-furlong sprint on Dundalk’s all-weather track.

If those contenders are battling for the minor places, then the tightening odds of Half Nutz might suggest that good things are expected, while six-time course winner Inishmot Prince will surely be in the mix with his regular claiming jockey at the helm.
With Half Nutz gathering market support, early favourite Bold Optimist might just be sent off at a more appealing price than expected, and that has certainly caught the eye of racing pundit K4 Tips, who provided the analysis below on his Tipstrr profile page.
This 3-year-old bay gelding, trained by Michael McCullagh in Ireland, has shown notable improvement in his recent performance.
A £10,000 yearling, he's the second foal out of a six-furlong winner and half-sister to the smart Italian winner Kathy Dream.
In his last outing at Dundalk, he displayed significant progress, winning a 12-runner maiden stakes over this distance after a 100-day break and wearing cheekpieces for the first time.
His previous race had been on the turf at Fairyhouse over seven furlongs, which hinted at potential, but it was at Dundalk where he truly shone, leading from over a furlong out and demonstrating both stamina and speed on the run-in.
With these promising signs and from his previous success over this course and distance, Bold Optimist is a strong contender for this and future races.
- Suggested bet: Bold Optimist in the 20:30 at Dundalk
