Another 9/2 winner for Andrew of Fiosrach! Put our tipster in your notebook for Royal Ascot

It was another profitable weekend for anyone who followed the advice of our regular horse racing tipster, Andrew of Fiosrach, at Haydock on Saturday afternoon.

Regular visitors to Planet Sport’s pages should already be aware of the capabilities of our resident trends analyst, Andrew of Fiosrach, who studies winning trends and stats to narrow down big-field races into a more manageable shortlist of likely candidates.

This approach has provided us with a string of winners and high-odds each-way places over the last 18 months or so, and he was at it again on Saturday.

One of Haydock’s feature races was the Lester Piggott Fillies’ Stakes, which had an unusually large 13-runner field for a race of this nature, but Andrew used his strategy to showcase four fillies that he fancied would have an impact - and he chose wisely!

In a thrilling finish, his main pick, Queen Of The Pride (9/2), edged home by a short head from one of his other picks, Lady Boba (6/1), with his other two selections, Madame Ambassador (16/1) and Night Sparkle (9/2), finishing a creditable fifth and seventh respectively.

In his preview that was published on Planet Sport the day before race, Andrew had seen it all coming:

“Queen Of The Pride has only had three runs, winning a minor race over a shorter trip at Leicester last September, and then finishing second on her seasonal debut in a Listed race over this trip at Goodwood last month.
The four-year-old Gosden-trained filly has a wide draw, which is not ideal, but in her favour she has the added bonus of being ridden by Oisin Murphy, who is well equipped to bring the best out of his ride. Queen of the Pride has more scope to improve than most of these and looks worthy of an each-way dabble

This winning tip had been 10/1 at the time of writing, was still 7/1 the evening before the race, and such was the support for the Gosden/Murphy filly that she was backed down to 9/2 second-favourite by the off.

After getting slowly into her stride, Queen Of The Pride was soon chasing the leaders on the outside until Murphy produced her with more effort two furlongs out, taking the lead at the furlong pole and then staying on gamely to just about keep her nose in front on the line

The good news is that Andrew of Fiosrach is already busy studying the form ahead of Royal Ascot, and we’re happy to say that he’ll be covering one big race on each of the Festival’s five days right here on Planet Sport.

With the form he’s been in, we’re optimistic that Andrew will have another big winner or two up his sleeve, and they’ll all be available on Planet Sport the day before each race, so be sure to check out his tips for the biggest meeting on the Flat racing calendar.
