ANGARA (1) returned from a lay-off two-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 3.5 lengths into eighth over 5f at Kembla Grange. Has a very strong second up record. Strips fitter and can make amends. CALGARY KING (8) finished fourth two runs back then did well last start but found a couple better over 6f at Goulburn, beaten only 0.6 lengths after being in contention on the bend. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is capable of a big performance. MISS CHECKONI (3) raced in town last time and missed the frame, finishing 18th over 7½f in The Four Pillars at Rosehill. Can do much better this time. WEALTHY INVESTOR (10) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6¼f at Taree, beaten 4.5 lengths into sixth. No surprise to see him in the frame.
