WAR PAINTER (3) showed good early dash and raced on the speed last start before fading to finish 2.25 lengths back in fourth over 1m1f at this track. Will be handy in the run and should prove hard to run down. MY GIRL SKY (1) turned in a fair effort in Listed grade at this track over 7½f at her last run nine months ago, finishing fourth and beaten 1.75 lengths. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race. GALLEY HEAD (2) was in contention on the bend and finished second last start over 6½f at this track, beaten 4 lengths. Has raced six times here and has never missed the frame. Needs to be at her best to beat this field but she has the ability to mix it with them.
