I'MATEEZ (6) was returning from a break last time out and proved too classy, scoring by half a length over 5f122yards at Geelong. Will be better for that latest run and will be a tough nut to crack again. SHOOTER MCGAVIN (8) finished sixth two runs back at this track then improved last time out to score by half a length after being prominent at the turn over 6½f at Stawell. Meets a stronger field but he is worth serious consideration. ARLINGTON ROW (11) had been in top form, scoring two consecutive wins before being sent out favourite last time and finishing tenth over 6f at Mornington. Should park just off the speed. Will be in this for a long way. DOBKINS (14) was in contention on the bend but turned in a disappointing run last time out over 6½f at Geelong after a nice win the start prior. Goes up a rung or two but she is up to the task.
