GRONKOWSKI (5) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6f at Flemington, beaten 4 lengths into tenth. Has the class to take care of this field. BEOUR BAY (3) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race when she did her best work late and finished 3.5 lengths away in fourth last time out over 6f at Terang. Tackling a deeper field this time but she is good enough to turn the recent form around. LAYERUPONLAYER (1) is a progressive galloper who is when resuming since finishing 12th over 6f at Sandown-Lakeside three months ago. Fitter for recent trials. Has a very strong record when resuming including two wins. Should park just off the speed despite the draw. Capable of testing this field. VAIL MOUNTAIN (4) was unplaced two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6½f at Bendigo, beaten 4 lengths into sixth. Better than recent efforts suggest.
