CONTROLLED ZONE (5) wound up strongly at the end of 5½f at Geelong last time out, finishing a neck away in second. Yet to break through this time in but hasn't been far away, with five placings to his name. Expected to be in the finish. BLACKLIST (1) resumes from a lay-off of three-and-a-half months. Could only manage to finish fifth at the latest run over 1m1/2f at Sale. Placed in a recent trial. Has ability and is a solid chance. FORTYFOUR MAGNUM (15) is a locally trained maiden galloper who hasn't raced since finishing in the placings over 5f at Terang four months ago. Looks to be in good order following a trial win. One of the contenders. MOAKSUN (2) didn't make an impact at his last run before going for a lay-off on 8/08/2024, finishing sixth and beaten 3.5 lengths over 5½f at Ballarat. One to consider.
