FLYING BASIL (1) filled a minor placing when fresh from a lay-off two starts ago. Could not back that up last time when 9 lengths away in eighth over 1m1/2f at this track. Well placed to make amends. ACTIVE DUTY (4) is building towards a win with placings at his last two runs, the latest effort a second over 1m1/2f at this track when beaten a head. Has a decent record at this track with four minor placings from six runs. Right in this. REDEVANCE (6) was allowed to drift back from an outside draw last time but found the line strongly to finish fourth, beaten half a length, over 7f at Wangaratta. Was outdashed but got going late and appears suited by the longer journey. Well placed and expected to feature. WEST CLIFF (7) progressed nicely last start to finish a close third over 1m at Terang after missing the placings at the previous appearance. Finds a suitable race and can play a major role.
