Likely improver who should be in the finish this time. CATALINA BLACK CAT (1) started at 11/2 last time and ran below expectations, finishing fifth and beaten 3 lengths at Kilmore over 5½f. Stepping up a level this time but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. GOT OUT THE FENCE (3) is yet to fill a placing in two runs since resuming from a lay-off, the latest when tenth over 6½f at Bendigo after he got a long way back. SMUGGLER'S ANGEL (14) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish fourth, beaten 5 lengths, over 6f at Benalla. Solid top-three prospects.
