KHABALOV (7) finished 1.75 lengths away in fourth last time out over 7f at Pakenham after being in contention on the bend when resuming from a lay-off. Steps up in distance. Blinkers come off second up. Fitter so a bold showing is likely. PERFUME RIVER (11) resumed from a lay-off last start with a sound third over 7f at Benalla after being prominent at the corner. Placed to advantage and can take this out. SUPER GROOVEY (14) was at long odds on debut last time out and finished sixth, beaten 2.5 lengths, over 6½f at Bendigo. Has upside and must be respected.
