GERALDINE'S JEWEL (9) is returning from a lay-off of 11 weeks. Finished tenth at Warrnambool over 5f at the first run last prep. Now with a new trainer Reece Goodwin. Expected to feature on best form. SILENT THUNDER (5) returned from a lay-off two-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 5 lengths into seventh over 5½f at Ballarat. Likely improver with strong prospects. LIMBERING (14) doesn't boast the best winning strike rate but ran a nice race when fresh from a lay-off last time out, finishing second and beaten only a nose over 6½f at Ararat after being prominent at the corner. Must raise the bar but this looks well within her grasp. MUTSUHITO (3) was a winner over 6f at Benalla last time out, dropping out early before coming home with a powerful run to score by 1.3 lengths. Can feature in the finish again.
