GELSEY (4) closed off strongly last start to get up for third, beaten 1. 4 lengths, over 5f at Gunnedah when fresh from a lay-off. Among the leading chances. EVONY (9) recorded a gutsy maiden victory last time out over 5f199yards at Grafton, scoring by a head. Nicely drawn and she is one of the main chances. MCLOVIN (2) is a five-year-old gelding who is having his first run for the Brett & Georgie Cavanough barn. Hasn't raced since finishing 12th at Bendigo six months ago.
