VARAZZE (14) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 5f at Taree after being prominent at the bend. Going up a level this time but she is good enough to play a major role. THE SIMPLE LIFE (13) ran below expectations last time after being in contention on the corner at Port Macquarie, finishing eighth and beaten 6 lengths starting at 4/1. Must raise the bar but she has the ability to test this field. HOT CHESTNUT (8) led into the straight last start over 6½f at Scone but could not sustain the pressure and finished seventh. Has the gate speed to take up a forward position. One of the main contenders. AVONLEE (5) could only manage tenth two runs back then improved last start but found one better over 4¾f at Moree, beaten 2.5 lengths. Finds a nice race and can play a big role again.
