MARLIN (2) was below his best last time, finishing ninth and beaten 11 lengths over 1m3f at Sale. Finds an easier assignment and can turn things around. LORD DEVENISH (4) missed the placings two runs back then was never in contention last start when 27 lengths away in ninth over 1m2 1/2f at Benalla. Ideally placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. MRS GOSSIP (9) settled well back last time out then found the line strongly to finish 3 lengths away in fourth over 1m2 1/4f at Moe. Solid top-three prospects. DA DEPUTY (6) finished third last start at the first run back from a lay-off over 1m at Yea, beaten a long neck. Will benefit from that outing. Nicely placed to play a role in the finish.
