HAY PEARL (6) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 3.5 lengths when seventh over 6¼f at Newcastle two-and-a-half weeks ago. This is a nice drop in grade so she is set to turn things around. ISLEDON (7) was in the money two starts back at Grafton but couldn't back it up last time when ninth, beaten 6 lengths, at Grafton over 5f. Finds the right race this time and can find winning form. NEVADA SMOKE (3) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish fifth, beaten 1.1 lengths, over 6¾f at Newcastle. Warrants plenty of respect. RANSOMING (4) won at Gunnedah two starts ago but was below his best at a more recent appearance, finishing seventh over 1m at Coonabarabran. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time.
