STEEL CLAWS (8) showed good early speed and led into the straight before fading to finish fourth, beaten 1.1 lengths, over 7f at this track. Will take catching again. PIERONIMO (4) has been in the placings at both runs this prep, most recently a closing second over 7½f at Newcastle. Ready to peak. SOUTHERLY BUSTER (6) ran below his best when seventh last start over 1m1 1/4f at Newcastle, beaten 12 lengths. Definitely worth another chance. LUNA CRUISER (12) missed the frame last time out when fourth over 7½f at Newcastle. Still a maiden but has been in the money on four occasions. Has recorded two minor placings from three tries at this distance. Won't find this as tough. Not to be discounted.
