LOCKDOWN LAD (5) is close to a win after a string of minor placings, the latest when second over 5f at Quirindi when he was in the firing line all the way. Likely improver with strong prospects. NO MORE ROMANCE (4) settled back on debut last time out and battled on evenly to finish fifth over 5f at Quirindi. Sure to improve and can get off the mark this time. GIGATON (1) will strip fitter for this after running below expectations when resuming at Wellington, finishing fifth and beaten 1.5 lengths over 5½f after being in the firing line on the corner. Beautifully placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. SPECULA (16) missed the placings when resuming two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 7 lengths away in seventh over 7f at Gunnedah. Has her share of talent and is a top-three prospect.
