MAKENA (6) resumes from a lay-off of nine months. Could only manage to finish fifth at the latest run over 6f in the LR Bill Carter (Lancaster) Stakes at Doomben. Commenced last prep with a minor placing at Canterbury over 6f. Should be forward enough following two recent trials. Well placed and happy to have her on top. PARUNA (9) made an encouraging debut last time out, finishing 2 lengths from the winner in fourth over 6¼f at Randwick Kensington. Open to improvement and looks a serious contender. PESCHIERA (10) wasn't far away on debut last start over 5½f at Warwick Farm, finishing fourth and beaten 2.75 lengths. Expected to feature with improvement to come. JAWHARAT DUBAI (4) has not raced since her debut back on September 1 when she finished fifth over 6f at Wyong. Plenty of scope for improvement.
