SPELLHOUND (6) gave away a big start at the top of the straight last start and finished 7 lengths from the winner in sixth over 6f at Doomben. This looks a nice race so expect him to be right in the finish. DUKE OF LANCASTER (1) spotted them a big start last time out and could only manage to finish fifth over 6½f at Toowoomba. Comes down a level this time. Will be hard to stop. FINE AND RARE (3) is a 20-start maiden who finished sixth, beaten 3 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 7f at this track. Definite top-three hope with plenty of improvement to come. EMBEZZLED HEART (2) returns after a six months lay-off and looks ready following a Sunshine Coast Inner Track trial win. Comes down a level this time. Well placed and expected to measure up. Among the better hopes.
