BETTER ACRES (12) missed the placings two runs back then didn't feature last start when 5.5 lengths away in eighth over 6f at this track. Nicely placed to get the prize. DETERMINATION (5) broke his maiden last start over 5¼f at Mackay, scoring by 0.8 lengths. One of the likely contenders despite the step up in grade. LONHY'S FABRE (6) has not raced since he scored on debut over 5½f at Mackay on September 5. Is lightly raced and looks forward enough after a solid recent trial. Definite player.
