NEWS AT NINE (2) bounced back last start and landed the prize by one length after being in the firing line on the bend over 1m1/2f at Lone Star Park Turf (Turf). It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. TRES SOLES (6) finished fifth over 1m1/2f at Churchill Downs (Dirt) at his most recent appearance on June 10. Strong chance to kick the campaign off on the right note. DOWN THE ISLANDS (7) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 8 lengths when sixth in a 7½f contest at Lone Star Park Turf seven weeks ago. Mario Fuentes gets the best out of this four-year-old entire. Looks well placed so expect a big run this time. WHISKEY NOT WINE (3) is back after a break of four months. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 1m at Sam Houston Park Turf. Yet to win when resuming but generally runs well with eight minor placings from 10 tries. Looks one of the genuine hopes in the race.
