Race Tip

AVENUE MONTAIGNE (5) is a maiden galloper who hasn't raced since finishing in the placings over 6¼f at Canterbury four months ago. Fitter for three trials, placing most recently. Key runner. PIERRO LAD (4) ran well on debut last start to finish third over 5½f at Canterbury in a tougher race. Promising type with improvement to come so he will be hard to beat. PANOVA (8) is a two-start maiden who placed on debut then could only manage fourth last start, beaten 3.5 lengths over 6f at Warwick Farm. Solid effort on debut a good reference. PICTOR (3) will strip fitter for this after running below expectations when resuming at Canterbury, finishing seventh and beaten 2.5 lengths over 5½f. Should be thereabouts in this suitable race.
