DARK OPAL (6) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 5f at Carnarvon, beaten 10 lengths. Likely improver with strong prospects. TAKE THE FIELD (2) finished seventh when resuming from a lay-off for a new stable and tackling a dirt track for the first time at this track over 6f last start. Better for the first outing on this surface and has winning claims. RAY'S SAUCE (3) is back after a break of four months. At the last run before the layoff he finished 12th over 6f32yards at Albany. Good effort to kick-off last prep when in the money at Albany over 5½f. Rates highly on best form and should be in the mix.
