Likely improver with strong prospects. ALSACE GEM (7) showed good early speed last start on debut but felt the pinch late and finished sixth, beaten 5. 5 lengths, over 5½f at Naracoorte. Must be included among the main hopes. VASILIAS (6) is a four-year-old gelding who is still a maiden after 10 starts but has been in the placings two times. Failed to threaten when 24 lengths from the winner in tenth when resuming last start over 6¼f at Morphettville Parks. Should park just off the speed. Deserves respect on best figures.
