CAVERN (5) did very well to fill a minor placing when resuming at Sale but raced below expectations last time over 5f at Seymour, finishing 12th and beaten 10 lengths. Finds a more suitable contest and can bounce back. LAKE FOREST (1) was last at the races when he finished sixth over 6f at Kilmore on November 23. Has switched to the Peter Gelagotis stable. Should be hard to stop. MAYA'S ACE (12) hasn’t been far away since a maiden win three runs back, the latest effort a second over 5f at Sale on May 17. Expected to run well again. MEET ME HALFWAY (10) is back from a lay-off of four-and-a-half months. Closed last prep as a winner, taking out a 5½f contest at Pakenham by 0. 8 lengths. Looks ready to run a big race following two recent trials. Expected to feature.
