RACE FOR RULE (9) looks close to a win after finishing in the money at both runs, the latest when second at Ballarat over 7f. Has upside and expected to go well. EXPANDING POWER (7) travelled in a rearwards position then made a little ground and finished 5 lengths away in sixth last time out over 6f at Sale when fresh from a lay-off as 11/4 favourite. Steps up in distance. Solid winning chance. NIGHT GUARD (2) finished fifth over 6f at Mornington when resuming last start, beaten only 1. 1 lengths. Tackling a deeper field this time but he is fitter and up to the task. FEAR THE IMPACT (1) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at this track but couldn't back it up last start when sixth, beaten 10 lengths, over 6f at Moe. Nicely placed to make amends.
