MAGNUS RED (1) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he was never in contention over 6¼f at Gunnedah, beaten 2.75 lengths into eighth. Nicely placed to take this out. KING RUPERT (2) is back in class after finishing 13 lengths away in 14th over 5½f at Randwick two-and-a-half weeks ago. Worth including in this easier race. MINNEWATER (4) resumed over 4½f last time out and turned in a solid effort to finish second at Wellington after she gave away a big start. Won't be bothered by this longer journey. Among the winning hopes. SCORPIUS (6) has been kept fresh for this since a disappointing seventh last start over 6½f at Parkes five weeks ago. Sound record at this distance with two wins and three minor placings from six runs and is among the main hopes.
