NULKABA STAR (4) held on well to finish third last time out over 6½f at Scone after leading for much of the way. Will go forward again and looks tough to beat. SIR TUA (8) turned in a moderate effort on debut last start when seventh at Warwick Farm over 5f, beaten 4 lengths. Has upside and deserves another chance. PERASTA (6) finished ninth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 4½f at Newcastle, beaten 4.5 lengths after being prominent at the corner. Has the talent to figure prominently. SMASHING NOVA (9) is a first-starter by Brave Smash from Al Nova who has produced a high percentage of winners-to-runners. Was in the placings in his most recent trial at Beaumont (Newcastle). Importantly has a nice gate and is certainly worth considering.
