OVER THE EDGE (2) knuckled down strongly to get within 0. 7 lengths of the winner in third last start over 6½f at Penola. Has the blinkers removed. Rates highly and a bold showing is expected. TAKEOVER LAD (3) turned in a handy position before finishing second last start over 6f at Balaklava, beaten a nose. Goes up a rung or two but he is good enough. ROYAL TRAPEZE (5) hasn't been able to break through for an extended period, the latest effort a fourth over 5¼f at Balaklava. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he has the ability to mix it with them. GRINZINGER ACE (1) tackled city class last start when sixth over 7f at Oakbank. Settles back early but winds up late. Not to be discounted.
