SHADDAP (4) finished fifth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 7f at Wellington, beaten only 0. 9 lengths after being prominent at the corner. Finds a more suitable contest and can take the next step and salute. VILLE DE LUMIERE (10) is usually thereabouts but finds it hard to win, with only one victory from 15 starts. Again tasted defeat last start when fourth over 5½f at Ballarat, beaten 1. 1 lengths. Worth noting Cian Macredmond goes aboard. Has the talent to take care of this field. THUNDERANLIGHTNING (6) was out of the money two runs back then again missed the frame last start over 6½f at Ararat, beaten 3. 5 lengths into fourth. Nicely placed to get the prize. NARALINGA (2) returned from a lay-off three-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 2. 75 lengths into sixth over 5½f at Horsham. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time.
