GRINZINGER CHAMP (7) showed good early speed and raced just off the lead before lifting to score by 0. 8 lengths over 6f at Kilmore last start. Will go forward and should be in the finish again. GOLDEN HORIZON (1) sat on the pace and stuck on well to score by 0. 8 lengths at this track and distance last time out to build on a solid when resuming result. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his best form he is capable of another big performance. GROUND CONTROL (2) was in control from the outset to score as favourite on debut over 5½f at Sale five months ago and has not raced since. Has since been kept ticking over with a Pakenham trial placing. Will come on following that run and looks a definite threat. SMASHING LAD (5) was a most impressive maiden winner over 5½f at Warrnambool last time out, scoring by 2. 75 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Tougher task this time but expected to be competitive again.
