DRY FIRE (3) was an impressive winner last time over 6f at Ballarat, scoring by 2.25 lengths to make it two in a row. Hard to knock and should go well again. ALICE DOWNS (7) returned from a break with a solid fourth, winding up late at the end of 5½f at Murtoa after settling well back. Should be doing best work late. GUNDAROO (5) found the line nicely last start to get up for third over 5½f at Benalla. Sure to be thereabouts. KING NEPTUNE (10) is close to a win after a sequence of strong results, the latest when second over 6f at Wodonga. Sure to be about the mark again.
