Race Tip

HOVLAND (4) started at 9/4 last time and ran below expectations, finishing fifth and beaten 1.2 lengths at Canterbury over 1m1 1/2f. Going up a level this time but he deserves another chance. CATANI GARDENS (1) made good late ground from the back but never threatened over 1m2f at Flemington last time out. Goes well at this journey including two wins from five starts and rates among the leading chances. FOIRE DE TRONE (11) was too good for a maiden field last start over 1m3/4f at Geelong, scoring by 1.3 lengths. Is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. Re-unites with Jamie Melham who was on board last start. Tougher assignment this time but is one of the main contenders. NAVY KING (6) has not won for a long while. Last raced on July 16 when beaten 5 lengths into fourth at Sandown-Hillside over 1m1f after being in the firing line on the bend. Steps up a level but he is capable of running a bold race.
