DON'T HOPE DO (13) was quickly into stride over 5½f at Ballarat last time and dug deep to score by 2.2.5 lengths. Has to overcome a tricky draw. Meets some better types this time but another big run will not surprise. APACHE SONG (14) was a determined winner last time at this track, scoring by a head over this distance. Gets some weight relief this time so she is right in contention. VONGOLE (4) settled well back and never threatened when fifth over 7f at Sale just six days ago. Likely improver with top-three prospects. FLYING MIKKI (11) was well in commission last time but ran below expectations when fourth and beaten 2.5 lengths over 6f at Caulfield Heath. Change of rider to Jack Hill who has never been out of the money in three rides, including a win. Solid claims on best form.
