SMASHING ACTION (7) produced a reasonable effort when eighth last start over 5¼f at Balaklava, beaten 2.5 lengths. That followed a win at Balaklava the start prior. Best figures measure up. Sure to run well. WAREO ROAD (2) ran a strong second over 4f190yards at Swan Hill two runs back then was below his best last time over 5½f when 12th, beaten 6 lengths. Better suited at this shorter trip so he shapes as one to consider. COOL CHARLIE (3) went forward over 5f at Wangaratta last time but found one better. Is going well this campaign, recording a win and four minor placings from seven starts. Minor claims.
