MAIKROW (6) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at Sunshine Coast, finishing fourth and only one length from the winner at the end of 6f when he did his best work late. Tackling a more suitable race so he is ready to return to the winners' list. EL FORTRESS (2) returns from a break of four-and-a-half months. Genuine performer last prep whose most recent appearance resulted in a sixth over 7f at Rockhampton. Finds the right race to launch another bright campaign. SPIRIT OF MAC (3) drifted well back last start before winding up strongly to finish third, beaten 1. 1 lengths, over 5¼f at this track. Among the chances again. LUCKY LASS (7) hit the frame two starts ago at Toowoomba but ran below par last time when sixth and beaten 6 lengths over 6f at Gold Coast. Suitably placed so anticipating a better run this time.
