MORDECAI (2) found the line nicely to grab third last time out over 7¾f at this track. Form at this course and distance is solid. Sure to be putting in the big strides late again. HE'S THE ONE (6) has been in the placings at his last two appearances, finishing third over 7f at Rockhampton most recently. Great chance to take this out. SOUTHAVEN (3) was comfortably accounted for when ninth last time out over 1m1 1/4f at Rockhampton, beaten 11 lengths. That followed a win at this track at the previous outing. Yet to miss the placings in two starts over this course and distance. Nicely placed to return to winning form. HOT PURSUIT (1) was beaten 3. 5 lengths into seventh in a 6½f contest at Townsville at her latest appearance. Finds a nice race and can bounce back.
