FLYING MAPLE (7) settled well back last start and made little impact in the straight when fourth, beaten 5 lengths, over this journey at Rockhampton. Nicely placed to take this out. DESERT KOBY (3) is a distance specialist who finished seventh two runs back at Sunshine Coast then improved last time out to score by 5 lengths as favourite after being in the firing line on the corner over 5½f at Rockhampton. No reason he cannot salute again. NOLAN (4) finished third last time over 5f at Townsville when resuming from a lay-off, beaten one length. Placed to advantage and can feature in the finish. BOOMING LAD (5) returned from a lay-off last start with a strong win by 0.7 lengths over 5f at Townsville. Open to plenty of improvement and is worth following up.
