ROOKIE NUMBERS (6) stepped out on his debut over 5f at Santa Anita (Turf) five weeks ago and finished fifth, beaten 8 lengths. Much better for that run and can get off the mark this time. MR CARDENAS (7) missed the placings on debut two runs back then was always well out of his ground last start when 15 lengths away in sixth over 4½f at Santa Anita. Faces an easier assignment so he is perfectly placed to score. ONE STEP BEYOND (2) will find this a little easier than his third on debut eight days ago, beaten 6 lengths at the end of 5f at this track (Dirt). Promising type with improvement to come so he can feature again. MY MAN HUEY (1) is a two-year-old colt facing the starter for the first time. From a successful breeding line, being by Complexity from Predictress. Should get all the favours from this good gate and is certainly worth considering.
