MAGADAN (4) was expected to do more last start when out of the placings over 1m1 1/2f at Toowoomba, beaten 13 lengths. Meeting a tougher field but on his best form he is one of the chief contenders. GRIPPING (1) finished fifth two runs back at Ipswich then improved last time out to score by 1.2 lengths after being in the firing line on the corner over 1m1 1/2f at Casino. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot repeat the dose. BRAVE BOY (6) is backing up quickly after finishing in the money at Dalby over 1m2f just nine days ago. Nice run last time and is a leading contender. SERENADE THE CAT (5) could only manage eighth two runs back then improved last start but found a couple better over 1m1f at Inverell, beaten 2 lengths. Capable of featuring prominently.
