CHURCH ROCK (2) came home strongly last start to finish third, beaten half a length, over 5f at Grafton when fresh from a lay-off. Drawn out but does go back and work into his races. One of the leading chances. SAMURAI WAND (4) is back after a break of 12 weeks. At the last run before the layoff he finished seventh over 6¾f at Ipswich. Looks ready to run following a minor placing in a recent Gold Coast trial. Ready to find winning form. MEASURED (8) didn't make an impact at her last run before going for a lay-off on August 20 finishing seventh and beaten 5.5 lengths over 7f at Gatton. Now under the care of new trainer Allan Chau. Among the better hopes. VALABING (10) finished 8 lengths from the winner in eighth at her most recent outing over 5½f at Doomben after she was well back on straightening. Worth plenty of thought.
