CONTRIVANCE (13) was in the money at Pimlico (Turf) when resuming two runs back then could only manage fifth at this track (Turf) over 5½f nine days ago. Drawn out but will wind up late. Best form stacks up nicely and deserves another chance. NIELSON (3) finished third, beaten 5 lengths, when resuming from a lay-off last start over 6f at Pimlico (Dirt) after he was in the firing line on the bend. This is the right race and can get the job done. LADDIE DANCE (16) is backing up seven days after he was safely held in eighth over 5½f at this track (Turf) against better opposition. Well placed to atone. UNDER THE OVERPASS (6) turned in a decent effort last start to finish second over 1m1/2f at Pimlico. Looks to be in the right race so another bold effort is on the cards.
