MELANITE (1) has returned in good order this campaign. Won his maiden when resuming over 5½f at Gold Coast then finished third over 5f at Wyong last time. Further improved and is a strong contender again. TRANSGRESS (5) was out of the money when resuming from a lay-off last start over 5½f at Gosford, beaten 4 lengths. Fitter so anticipating a better run this time.
