Race Tip

MACCBI (15) is still a maiden after eight runs and despite that was well fancied last time but couldn't quite get over the line, finishing a close second over 6f at Nowra. Tackling tougher opposition but he should run well. SANT GERVASI (11) was out of the money on debut two runs back then again missed the frame last start when he was always well out of his ground over 5½f at Wyong, beaten 1. 5 lengths into fourth. Finds an easier assignment and can take this out. SPONARS (3) was in a rearwards position on the turn last time out before finishing 2. 25 lengths from the winner in fifth over 6f at this track. Expected to feature in the finish this time. EL TORO MACHO (1) has filled a minor placing at both runs to date, the latest when beaten 1. 5 lengths into third over 6½f at Hawkesbury. Well placed and can figure prominently.
